Perhaps I would have liked this book when I was younger, in the general target age group for the book which is why I gave it a Borrow instead of a Bury. However, my Goodreads library only contains those books I’d give four or five stars and would recommend to friends without hesitation and I haven’t even gotten around to listing all those yet! As much as any of us might like to find love with miki, the jwcked in this book was rushed and felt really forced.
The older cover from the edition is starting to look a bit dated, but the contemporary-looking new cover will definitely grab a new generation of teens’ attention. I picked out this book hoping that it would be another “Georgia Nicholson” but this ajcked pales in comparison. On sale for the Nook, and it looked like a fun, light, Princess Diaries read-a-like. I will recommend this book to teenager girls who enjoy reading about teenager relationships.

I understand the overall plot, but what was the plot of this story. She was never much of a threat, or even much of a bitch, so I don’t even know if she counts for this section. I felt like the girl having a gay mother was meant to just fill in some kind of agenda. Sep 09, Jade O’Brien rated it really liked it. Your Cart items Cart total.

It deals with a controversial subject, but the way it’s introduced makes you laugh and feel what Valerie is feeling.
The other problem I had was that I couldn’t really get on board with the main character, Val. I want build up and conflict surrounding the relationship and then, once the relationship starts, I want passion and romance and character growth.
There was no ending. In the second book Val is shipped back to the Royyally, so there she decides to hook up with David as well.

I wasn’t laughing when I read the book and the heroine was so whiny and bratty a combination that really turns me off. But other than that, I really enjoyed it! Because Georg is gorgeous, a fantastic soccer player, well educated with good grades, sweet, athletic in the general sense, wise beyond his years, super popular etc etc.
Anywho, I wasn’t interested in continuing this series as this book did little to hold my attention although it didn’t make me barf like most chick lit out there; just roll my eyesand now that I have read the ‘plot’ of the sequel, it just sealed the deal that I am done with Valerie and her boy “problems”. You could create Val’s situation with just the dad’s career alone rather than sticking the mom in like that.
I will never recommend it to anyone. Nov 05, H.
